Wavu
Tools for people building something of their own.
An ecosystem of tools, infrastructure, education, and services built for working people. A person should be able to start with what they have, learn what they need to learn, build something useful, find an audience, and grow that effort into something bigger — without having to abandon the tools that helped them get started.
WavuKazi is not built around the idea that a platform should own your business. We build tools that you build with.
A person might begin as an individual with an idea, a skill, a trade, a hustle, or simply the desire to do something different. That person can become a creator. A creator can become an entrepreneur. An entrepreneur can build a business. A business can become an operation that creates opportunities for other people.
Individual → Creator → Entrepreneur → Business
You do not have to begin as a company. You do not have to know everything. You do not have to start big. You start where you are.
Many modern platforms are designed around a simple relationship: you use their platform, they control the platform, they monetize your activity. WavuKazi takes a different approach.
We build tools and infrastructure that people can use to create, operate, communicate, distribute, sell, teach, broadcast, and grow. Our goal is not to become the owner of everything you build. Our goal is to give you better tools with which to build it.
You own your work. You build your audience. You operate your business. You determine what you sell and how you sell it.
We don't believe the person watching is necessarily the end of the story.
Participation can become opportunity.
WavuKazi products are designed to work as independent tools while also being capable of working together.
WavuWebTv — Infrastructure for operating an independently owned digital television station: programming, audience access, content relationships, rights, transactions, live broadcasting, scheduling, and station operations.
WavuTV — The audience-facing media experience through which people discover stations, watch programming, participate in content-specific conversations, and engage with the media they consume.
WavuDistro — Infrastructure for building, organizing, processing, storing, and distributing a growing content library.
WavuMall & WavuVendor — Tools for people and businesses to present, sell, and manage products and services.
WavuSocial — Community and social infrastructure for building relationships around people, projects, businesses, and interests.
WavuMail — Operator-branded communication infrastructure.
WavuMedia — Media production tools designed to make professional media creation more accessible without forcing the user to operate complicated production software directly.
WavuAI — AI infrastructure and tools intended to assist people in doing useful work rather than simply consuming another platform's services.
WavuDevs — A pathway for people to learn the WavuKazi architecture, develop products and extensions, provide services, and eventually build their own development businesses.
Education — Courses and practical lessons designed around the experience of actually building things. The curriculum provides the structure. The experience provides the lessons.
WavuKazi's business is building and maintaining infrastructure. We are not trying to become the middleman in every transaction you make.
If a creator sells content, that creator should benefit from the sale. If a Distro licenses content, the Distro should benefit from its business. If a station sells memberships, subscriptions, programming, advertising, or other services, the station should benefit from its success.
We build the tools. You build the business.
Our products and services may have purchase prices, licenses, subscriptions, hosting costs, courses, or other fees. But our model is not based on secretly taking a percentage of everything our participants earn.
Starting small should not mean buying a temporary product.
Start with a complete tool. Grow with it.
An individual can begin with a single operation. That operation can build an audience. The audience can create demand. The operator can expand. The operation can require additional infrastructure. New WavuKazi products and services can meet those new needs.
The objective is not to make you outgrow the tools. The objective is to make tools capable of growing with you.
WavuKazi cannot remain frozen. As people build, new needs appear. New technologies become available. New relationships develop. New capabilities become possible.
That means WavuKazi products, protocols, services, and infrastructure will continue to evolve. Some improvements will be simple updates. Others may introduce new capabilities or new relationships between WavuKazi products.
This is why WavuKazi maintains ongoing service and update programs for applicable products. The purpose is not simply to collect a recurring fee. It is to keep the ecosystem moving.
A successful station, creator, developer, Distro, business, or community creates new requirements. Those requirements help shape what gets built next.
WavuKazi does not claim ownership of the content, products, businesses, communities, or ideas you create using WavuKazi tools merely because you used our software.
You remain responsible for the work you create and for having the rights necessary to use or distribute material you do not own.
WavuKazi provides infrastructure. You provide the work.
We believe people should know what happens to their information.
WavuKazi does not secretly use or sell your data.
Information may be collected when it is necessary to provide an account, operate a service, process a transaction, secure infrastructure, provide support, maintain records, or comply with legal obligations. We explain those practices in our Privacy Policy.
WavuKazi is not designed around the assumption that everyone needs to become a corporation.
There are people building businesses from bedrooms, workshops, farms, phones, small offices, churches, classrooms, community spaces, studios, shops, and internet connections.
WavuKazi is for them.
Wavu means nets. Kazi means work.
One person can mend one part of a net. Another person can mend another. Eventually those individual efforts connect. The net becomes stronger because more people contribute to it.
That is the idea behind WavuKazi.
Build your part.
Build with others.
Make the net stronger.
You do not need to have everything figured out. You need a place to start, useful tools, the willingness to learn, and the opportunity to grow.
WavuKazi provides the tools.
What you build with them is up to you.
